This diskette contains a number of drivers for Arcnet which support
Novell NetWare. Some of the drivers are configurable in order to
balance performance against available NetWare286 "Server
Processes". A command called OPTION is on the disk which
configures it according to the Arcnet hardware type, NetWare
version, etc. To find out how to use the OPTION command, change
directory to the root directory of this disk and enter the command
OPTION.
*********** WARNING ************** WARNING ************
It has been reported that the OPTION program locks up when being run on a
machine that utilizes QEMM 386 Memory Management Software. The lockup occurs
when QEMM is allowed to use the address range B000:0 to B800:0 for use as HIMEM.
Temporarily adding the following parameter to the QEMM command line in your
CONFIG.SYS should correct this conflict: "EXCLUDE=B000-B800"

These Turbo II drivers, which comply to the new Arcnet Packet
Header Definition Standard Rev 3.0, are compatible with other
drivers also written to this standard, as well as downward
compatible with RX-NET. However, they are not compatible with our
original High Performance drivers. Therefore, in order to maintain
compatibility, it is necessary to install TurboII drivers on both
your fileserver and workstations.
You will notice that the OPTION command allows you to select from
a menu of many different board type numbers. In reality, the
ARCNET boards fall into three groups:
Early 8 bit boards are in the PC100 family and use the PC100 software
drivers. These include PC100, PC100M, PC110, PC200, PC210 and many
8 bit clones which use the SMC9026 chip.
High integration 8 bit boards which use the SMC90C63 or SMC90C65 chip
are in the PC130 family and use the PC130 family drivers. These
include PC120, PC130, PC130E, PC220, PC260, PC270 and some 8 bit
clones.
16 bit ISA (AT) bus boards with nodal priority are in the PC500 family
and use the PC500 drivers. These include PC500, PC550.
16 bit MCA (PS/2) boards are in the PS110 family and use the PS110
dirvers. These include PS110, PS210.
